About TerraViva Journeys

Founded by Corinna Moebius, Ph.D., TerraViva Journeys helps planners, placemakers and tourism industry professionals ensure that their tourism initiatives, heritage and historic districts, and local tourism businesses abide by principles of inclusive and regenerative tourism. A hybrid cultural anthropologist/urban geographer and seasoned consultant and tourism professional, Dr. Moebius has spent more than 30 years advocating for more just and inclusive communities. Her experience includes advising city planners on equitable multi-stakeholder engagement practices, leading a countywide civic engagement initiative focused on equity, inclusion and sustainability; and transforming tourism practices in ways that disrupt “single stories” and benefit local communities and the environment. Dr. Moebius is also a Senior Instructor with the Reconomics Institute.

Dr. Moebius has spoken on racial inequities in the tourism industry at several national conferences. She has spent over a decade leading walking tours in Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood and co-authored the first “people’s history” of Little Havana (A History of Little Havana). She uses no plastic or styrofoam on any of her walking tours. When she served as Director of Imagine Miami, a regional civic engagement initiative, she brought together grassroots leaders to share ideas, resources and projects and expand impact, also directing Imagine Miami Changemaker Conferences focused on topics like placemaking and civic dialogue.

Dr. Moebius holds a Ph.D. in Global & Sociocultural Studies from Florida International University, where she has taught courses on race, gender and identity. She is also certified in Permaculture Design (regenerative practices) for more than a decade, with hands-on training from the founder of Grow Permaculture. Dr. Moebius is also a longtime civic leader in Little Havana and currently Co-Chairs the Health & Public Space Committee of Healthy Little Havana, a local nonprofit that uses a collective impact model. She was designated a Little Havana Community Champion by Calle Ocho Magazine and also co-founded the Little Havana Merchant Alliance.
