SUMMARY:Grow Smarter St. Pete- Coordinated Education + Training Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join Grow Smarter St. pete for their Coordinated Education + Training workshop on February 19 from 3:30 – 4:30 PM at the St. Petersburg College Midtown Campus. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nAccording to the 2019 UNITE Pinellas Equity Profile\, the number of disconnected young men in Pinellas County (defined as youth between the ages of 16 and 24 who are neither currently employed nor enrolled within a learning institution) increased by 19% between 2010 and 2016. During the same time period\, the number of disconnected young men of color increased by approximately 48%. \n\n\n\nThroughout 2019\, the Coordinated Education and Training workgroup selected disconnected youth as\na primary area of concern. Conversations focused on finding and reaching this population\, as well as helping existing organizations in South Pinellas who provide education and training align their efforts in reaching disconnected youth. This work and focus will continue in 2020. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGrow Smarter is an inclusive\, multi-sector approach to equitable economic growth in St. Petersburg.  The initiative brings together 90+ organizations for cross-sector collaboration with key stakeholders and members of the community.
