About Turnstile Tours & Studio

Turnstile Tours & Studio is a mission-driven tour company and consulting practice that works with nonprofit and industry partners to advance public knowledge about the meaning of place, foster human connection, and inspire community participation through creating and supporting inclusive, engaging, and dynamic visitor experiences. Through partnerships with local nonprofit organizations and small businesses, Turnstile Tours provides out-of-town visitors, community residents, and people of all ages and abilities a uniquely “human” window into the inner-workings of the urban landscape in New York City, from street vending and public space to the working waterfront and urban manufacturing. All programs seek to elevate the stories of people and organizations that are working to make the city a more equitable place to live, and Turnstile Tours contributes at least 5% of all ticket sales from tours to designated local nonprofits and the communities they serve. Through Turnstile Studio, the company’s team of practitioners also consults behind the scenes with nonprofit, cultural, and government organizations on their capacity-building efforts with a focus on designing and providing more welcoming, inclusive, meaningful, and engaging experiences to people of all ages and abilities.
